Julie Hein

Dance found Julie Hein in the mid-1980’s and it’s never let her go. Retired from 12 years of competition, she now conveys her training to both social and competitive students—both in the upper Midwest and on select Caribbean cruises.

Her leadership in the Chicagoland dance community has included referee judging NASDE competitions as well as judging locally; co-founding Swing ‘n’ Country Dance Club (celebrating 25 years in 2020); co-owning Genesis Dance Club, MAD Champs, and Swing City Chicago, as well as directing competitions for Dance Camp Chicago. In her spare time, she enjoys ushering nervous competitors on and off the floor.
